I guess I want it all :-)

My first priority is to work DX, with various angles to different parts of
the world. For example, I want to be strong into Alaska and Central America,
while having capability to break a pile up in Europe.

It'd be nice to hear in two different directions, though not as vital with
the Steppir, given that it has bi-directional capability. Also, phasing the
two will give my signal added punch, theoretically.

Just trying to assess whether it's even worth it.....

Ed, you didn't say what your design objective(s) is(are). Do you want to
talk to your brother in Texas, win Sweepstakes, make the honor roll, or win
W6 in the ARRL DX Contest? Oh, and of course ragchew with New Zealand.

You see what I'm asking, right?

There's a differeent answer for each of those possibile objectives, given
your hardware.
