I prefer 10 inch pieces of AWG #14 THHN (solid copper center, insulated
wire). Wind it around and twist 3-4 times with pliers. Not too tight or
it will break, as well as crush soft cables. Bend end to parallel the leg
of the tower, so it doesn't stick into your hand as you climb. Does not
deteriorate in the sunshine, does not flap.
