Well, the 2.5 yards is four pours as I count them -- the base and three guy
anchors. Last summer, three friends helped me pour a Rohn 25 tower base by
hand (1 yard), using a small mixer that one of them owned. The location of
the tower made it impractical to pour from a truck. It took us about six
hours with time off for lunch. We were careful to mix properly, and were
able to achieve a good quality pour. I think it would be quite feasible to
do the base one day and the guy anchors another day (or two), but only with
some husky guys helping. That's a lot of weight to be lifting. The tower
base itself is two tons. No sane person would do it himself to save money,
but there are sometimes good reasons to do it yourself.
