I am not a professor of anything..I build big commercial towers for a 
living...and the odd Ham job on the side..

What we are talking about here is guy radius...distance from the tower base to 
the guy anchor point...
The manufacturer's prints are normally done for flat gound...

 

General rule of thumb for uneven round....

a. for every foot anchor is above tower base move anchor back/away from tower a 
foot
b. for every foot anchor point  below tower base move anchor in a foot....

 


Maybe the professor is from Giligans Island?
