I have a dog that liked wire. Put a fence charger (2 D cell type) on a cable
and let it lay out there for him. He only bit it once and hasn't touched a
wire since (4+ years).
I don't know if he told the other 2 dogs, but they aren't interested in the
stuff either.
If it's just a varmint, a 22 or decent pellet rifle is a good training
instrument. Although a good jolt may work on them too.
All kinds of problems can be resolved with the proper application of
electricity.
