In the U.S., [NEC 210.21(B)(3)] a 15A receptacle can be used on a 120V/20A 
branch circuit when the circuit supplies more than one receptacle.  For a 
single receptacle on a 20A circuit, the receptacle must match the 20A 
circuit.  I don't believe Canada allows for this variance.

I agree with Jim on the use of 20A circuits for shack wiring.  I ran two 
dedicated 20A circuits into the shack and it made a world of difference. 
I'm using Leviton hospital-grade duplex receptacles.
