Rod,

I think you are absoulutely corect about the electrolyte imbalance
causing cramps. I have a similar problem with cramps in the calf of my
leg when doing strenous activities. I have also found that if I take
800-1000 mG of calcium w/vitamin-D early in the morning before a climb,
I don't have this problem. Drinking lots of water goes a long way, too.
