I use thimble to thimble and spelter socket to thimble with no known issues.

I had planned on using 1/2? thimbles to couple 5/16? EHS to 5/16? EHS
(pieces I
have from a purchase) ... as well as at their ends of course ...

and the same for coupling from the 11200 philly to the 5/16? using the same
1/2? thimbles...

is this a possible issue? Do I need to use insulators instead?

I?d think if there is philly to the top of the tower and the EHS, in 2
?coupled? pieces, down to the ground ? grounded there ? there would be no
potential for noise being generated through any form of rubbing ? correct?

And wear ? the 1/2? thimbles are monsters ? I?d think it would take
decades for
it to wear if ever... although I suppose it might cause the galvanizing to
wear
prematurely.

any one have experience with this method?

Gary
