2 more things:
- there are two different "1 dB": one of them is a difference between
S9 and s9+1dB which is unnoticable; another one is 1 dB above or below
noise... you either hear the DX station (+1dB) or not with -1dB.
- any antenna, beside the +1db front gain, has a radiation angle...
you cannot compare gains without angles.
