Just use solid bare copper.

There are hundreds of radio stations using radials from the 1920' 
and 1930's, and those radials are in good shape today.

We dug some up at WSPD, they were installed in the late 1920's I 
believe, and they were in great shape.

I would assume copper would last more than a few hundred years, 
because copper artifacts generally are in good shape after a 
thousand years in the dirt.
   
Stranded wire or copperweld should be avoided.
