I either use multiple ground rods spaced several feet apart or a
single rod and at least two radials on my beverages.
I've found that when it gets really dry, the ground resistance of a
single ground is far too high. Even with moist soil, the RF
resistance of a six foot deep one inch diameter copper pipe is almost
100 ohms.
Be sure you isolate the coax shield from the Beverage ground at the
feedpoint, to prevent the coax shield from acting like a long antenna
that drives the ground system with unwanted RF. I totally isolate the
primary of all my beverage transformers from the secondary, and do
not ground the shield near the antenna ground system.
