The 15 meter bamboo beam works! I have an excellent SWR 1.4-1 in the cw
portion. I cut it for 21.250 but because of the readings at 10
feet added 1 foot of wire. I guess I was right the first time. It
has an SWR of 1.7-1 at 21.250. I can live with this. I placed the beam
at 40 feet and worked CT9DLH on the first call with 100 watts through
the masses. I can't rotate the antenna. It is fixed east. I have been
using a 40 meter beam at 80 feet on 15 and this little sucker is 2
s-units better on receive.
I was in the bucket for 1 1/2 hour doing repairs at 80 feet and
installing the little beam. The wind-chill was 13 degrees! I hope that
I can get through the winter without another trip to the top!
Thanks to all who responded to my questions.
