For what reasons might one select fiber rods & steel guys vs Phillystran? (Both eliminate the shunt-feed problem and the
resonance problem with nearby wire antennas.)

Any concern that the fiber rods may be more vulnerable to vibration
failure in a severely gusty storm?

I have used them for many years without any problems.

On a 105' of Rohn 25 the top two sets of guys start out with 20' rods

at the tower and lower two sets of guys start with the small ones..about

18" long. This effectively insulates the tower from the guys to permit

shunt feeding, if desired. Guys are also broken up with egg insulators

after the fiberglass rods as the guys continue to ground.

If you can get them, use them. Just make sure they are not physically

damaged.
