just an fyi:
In Sept this year, I used the HFTA program for the first time.
the USGS site for downloading terrain data has/had changed
again since HFTA-Changes.pdf was written. (when I used it in Sept)
I eventually was able to figure out how to get it to work, and download
the terrain
data and use HFTA.
I reported some of the issues to the antennaware site: see

The results were pretty nice though. You only have to get the USGS data
once,
so once you figure that out, you're good to go.
