Hi, I'm wondering if there are any antenna experimenters near here who might be interested in going together to purchase a decent sized order of fiberglass poles from MaxGain Systems. The poles are cheap enough, but shipping is terrible for just a few ($72 for from one pole, and it is the same for 70 lbs of them). I used some of these poles to replace the crummy Cubex ones on my four element quad and have found them to be very rugged, and they telescope nicely together. I never had a problem with the spreaders after that replacement. Now I would like to try some experiments with a rotatable dipole under the boom of my 20 meter beam, but I don't want to dismantle my quad to do them. Here is a URL to MaxGain Systems. http://www.mgs4u.com/fiberglass-cubical-quad-spreaders.htm I do get to Portland, OR fairly regularly, and Seattle once in a while. 73, Rob, KL7NA (in Walla Walla, WA) -- Rob Frohne, Ph.D., P.E.
