I had adapted an old WW II Emergency antenna (from a Gibson Girl kit) to
an old deep sea fishing reel that I had gotten at a garage sale. The
antenna wire is about 300' of 19 ga. copper-beryllium woven wire. I use
the wire for end fed antennas during portable operation on vacations,
etc. and the reel fit nicely in my portable station bag and made
installation and retrieval easy. Unfortunately, I accidentally damaged
the reel and need another and don't want to spend a fortune for a new one.
The spindle was about 4" wide and the sides were about 4" in diameter.
If someone has an old fishing reel or similar device that they want to
get rid of at a reasonable price, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.
