I used a "Cool Whip" container turned upside down, punched a hole in the 
bottom and a slice on the side.  Then I used electrical tape to cover it 
to keep the UV from damaging the plastic.  It's been there for 5 years, 
works great, and keeps the coax/SteppIR control wires from getting 
tangled with the bolts on the side of the thrust bearing in addition to 
protecting the bearing.
