I should have said the irrigation tubing has a 2.900 inch ID and the
PVC pipe has a 2.875 inch ID. Ideally, it slips inside with 12.5
mils of clearance. In practice, sanding may be necessary. YMMV.
This is why an outside sleeve is easier; you don't have to worry
about any of this.
