I just bought one of those motor covers for my HDX-555, knowing that, 
because the motor is mounted *underneath* the gearbox, I would have to 
remove the motor and drill holes in the top of the cover and then 
reassemble everything. I did not, however, reckon with the amount that 
the electrical box sticks out from the motor casing: one side of the 
motor cover will have to splay outward somewhat to clear the electrical box.

Where do pool motors typically have their electrical connections? This 
cover is supposed to be OK even for 2hp motors, and I don't think mine 
is that big.
