Good to hear of the relaxation. While 5nn nn is cute, 100W makes you
awfully difficult to hear on the west coast of the US, or through urban
noise levels that have roared past S9 on their way to 20 dB over S9.
That's why I run a power amp most of the time.

FYI, Ireland just changed the rules last year from 400 watts to 1500 watts,
for everyone, but only for a list of 20 or so specific contest weekends.
(Previoiusly the club stations could get one-time permission for 1500 watts
with a letter to CommReg (Irish FCC) before each of the big contests.

So far, RadComm in the UK has not made the same change, but G's have told
me they hope to use the CommReg ruling to convince RadComm.

Me, I'll remain at my 99 watts from Ireland, as I love sending 5NN NN on cw,
and listening to the struggle for stations to actually hear my
FiveNineNinetyNine on SSB in the ARRL contests.

I want to make it clear that I have no idea what Balun Designs is selling, I
don't know them, I have had no communications with them, I have no business
relationship with ANYONE selling chokes based on my designs, nor have I
licensed ANYONE to sell them. For what it's worth, putting a choke in a
weatherproof box confines the heat that is produced within it, and can cause
destructive failure.

Any of my designs can be built VERY inexpensively, especially the ones that
are bifilar wound with THHN in the form a parallel wire transmission line
around a single #31 core, and were specifically inspired by the needs of our
brethren in the UK who appear to be getting ripped off by outrageous markups
of Fair-Rite products by distributors with exclusive relationships, and
where max legal power is 400W.
