This sounds similar to a common reaction to statins like Lipitor used to 
control cholesterol.  Typically severe muscle and joint pain with or 
without the fatigue.  OTOH it rarely comes with the headaches or 
disorientation.   But...when you take something for the pain all you 
want to do is lay down and go to sleep.  If it has had a chance to 
progress, it can destroy muscle tissue an take months to recover.
