I'm thinking of replacing my existing short roof quadpod with a taller
one to raise my C-3SS higher off my roof in order to (hopefully) cure
some interaction issues.
I have two routes to go: a Glenn Martin or Create (if I can find one)
9-10 footer that won't need guys, or a Rohn 25 flat-top section (8 ft)
that would require guying. The cost of the Rohn plus parts (rotor
shelf, peak roof mount and guy materials) is approx half of the
GME/Create,
Any suggestions or comments re: the technical merits of the opposing
routes?
Of course, one can't judge the costs imposed by the "Aesthetics
Committee" when it sees guy wires on the roof, but I'm not going there
quite yet!
Thanks in advance.
