A better way of saying that is that the difference is probably too small
to matter, and does not account for what John is seeing. What CAN make a
difference is insulation. While I haven't measured it, the insulation on
THHN (ordinary house wire) lowers the resonance by a small amount,
perhaps 1-2%. NEC does a calc for this if you enter the properties of
the insulation and its thickness. It also accounts for conductor diameter.
