The referenced link contains a nice drawing showing the difference in sizes
for the of the various heights of the LM series towers.
I notice that the drawing is dated 1972! Ten years ago Paragon Mfg. took
over manufacturing the tower with First Call the sales outlet. The name was
changed to SKY470 for the LM470 however some of the literature still used
the Triex pages. At that time the tower steel was changed to a higher
strength. Maybe the dimenstions were also changed although my SKY570
instruction manual has the same dimensions, except for the extended and
nested heights, as the referenced link. These two heights are specified as
68' and 24' 6".
Paragon sold out to an eastern company who shortly sold out to Tashjian.
The original question was what is the difference in LM, HM, & HD versions
and it would be nice to know what the initials stand for. I suspect that HD
stands for heavy duty, possibly M for manual pull down as one of my Triex
literature pages refers to LM470HD as manual pull down with LM470HDSP as
motorized pulldown!

Allow me to document an answer to own posting for the record. A lot of you
were helpful, but Ron, W8RJL, sent me exactly the information I was seeking
in a form that I understood immediately.
Tri-Ex produced a number of different size tower sections for telescoping
towers. This "Cross Section Details" drawing identifies the sections by
"Section No." in the drawing, with dimensions of sections 5, 6, 7 and 8 on
this drawing.
A table at the bottom of the drawing identifies LM and HM towers current as
of the drawing (1972) and the sections used for each tower. The HM-354, for
example, uses section numbers 6, 7, and 8, where the lighter LM-354 uses
smaller sections 5, 6, and 7.
Tashjian's drawing of the modern LM-354HD identifies that it uses section
numbers 6, 7 and 8.
I don't know if there are addition changes, but it seems logical that an
HM-354 has been re-designated "LM-354HD."
Concrete Base designs appear identical - I can find no differences in these
towers.
