Matt,
I don't understand what you're asking. Stub matching is a good thing and
I use it on several of my antennas, but I don't understand what you're
trying to accomplish with the 50 ohm dummy load. The way to test your
system is to connect the feedline to a transmitter (or test instrument)
with the stub in place and measure the SWR in the shack.

Hi folks - need some help. A shortened 160m vertical ground plane antenna
is cut and tested for a resonant frequency of 2.24 Mhz. The antenna is
matched near perfectly to 50 + 0j ohms at 1.85 Mhz using a shorted coax stub
of appropriate length placed at the appropriate location along the feedline.
With a 50 ohm dummy load attached to the station end of the feed line, will
the antenna be resonant (ring) when externally excited at 1.85 Mhz or 2.24
Mhz?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.
