Hi Chris,

I have a 48' self-supporting Delphi tower here---it's given me yeoman's service
for the past 30 years, and I got it second-hand from a previous owner who had
it for who-knows-how-many-years before me...

The very top section---also the narrowest, obviously---has a "cover plate"
with, if I recall correctly, five holes stamped into it: one large one at the
middle, and four others spaced equidistant about it. This is for the
installation of a Delphi bearing. There is another plate a coupla feet below
this one, for the installation of a rotator.

After having secured three "tower extensions" into a 4' x 4' x 4-1/2'
cement-filled hole with the base 8' element attached thereon, I used a gin pole
to successively attach each subsequent section. When the tower was complete,
the gin pole was used to hoist up my trusty ol' Hygain TH3 Mark III tri-bander
atop it all...
