Why do you say the tilt-plate wouldn't give you access to the vertical? The
Yagi's elements would be parallel to the ground, at whatever height you chose
to stop the descent, altho horizontal or below horizontal puts a lot of extra
stress on the raising gear. Even a few degrees above is significant. I stop
mine when the rotor is about eye level. I'm 5'10".
