As a reference point, I have the DXE 8 circle, and had occasion recently
to replace the center relay box. All of the connectors looked like the
day I installed it a few years ago. I used the DXE supplied flooded
cable...but like I said, I've never seen dielectric grow. Did the foil
shield grow with the dielectric?

I've never seen that happen...maybe you have weird coax. But still, if
the electrical problem caused by this is that the center pin loses
contact, my suggestion might be a work around, albeit not completely
satisfying.

That is not the issue at all. the center insulated foam grows. When
the connector is put on the foam is even or just short of where it
should be. I have one connector where the foam is now sticking out
of the connector. I could not put the connector back on a female
connector because there is so much foam sticking out the inside.

On F connectors I like to leave the center conductor a little long.
I hate the normal prep tools. I work with a good sharp curved cutter
and do everything manually. I've NEVER experienced what you are
describing. There is quite a bit of room inside female connectors,
try leaving a 1/4" of center conductor sticking out of the male
connector. Put a little dielectric grease in to fill the void. Your
troubles will go away.

Maybe it is an issue with the coax. I will have to go look the
maker and specs. I don't know what other connectors to use. I use
the appropriate stripping tool with a compression F connector. I
will have to check the other connectors at each antenna and see if
they are doing it too. I suppose I could try a different brand of
compression connectors.

I have seen this phenomenon many times with RG8 using type N
connectors
The only solution I know for that case is to switch to UHF
connectors don't allow the dielectric to move relative to the
center conductor.
Does anyone else understand this behavior?

I have a circle 8 array and the center dielectric seems to grow
after I put connectors on. Enough that the connector works
itself off the switching unit. There is at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an
inch coming out past where it should on the connector. I am
using quality compression connectors. Do I need to stretch this
coax out? I don't recall the brand but I think it was decent
quality cable. Has anyone else seen this?
