Are bazooka baluns forgiving enough that one can just slide a 1/4-wave
of braid on the feeder, join things up appropriately & that's it? Does one
assume the save velocity factor as for the feeder itself? What are folks'
practical experience at keeping the braid from ceasing to be a sleeve
electrically?

Bazooka baluns seem like they might lend themselves to feeding the
drivers of a multi-band beam separately... we use 1/4-wave stubs for
isolation in SO2R contest shacks - a stub across the driver strikes me
as potentially helpful. Or am I not being knowing? ;^)
