K6-somebody (sorry, deleted yesterday's digest - K6IF?) was
asking about building gamma matches.
Strip sheath & shield off length of RG-8 & shove into gamma
tube. Start with length bit longer than what is expected to be
needed (20-odd pF per foot?) & trim from there. Treat end
inside of tube accordingly, as well as weatherproofing both
ends of gamma rod. Tube ID should be pretty close to center
conductor insulator OD.
