I have OWLS in the night and Turkey Vultures in the morning perched drying
there wings in preparation to Soaring flight.
Both are protected be law the Vultures use to short out the loading wire on the
High Gain 3 element 40 ( I turned the element side ways 90 degres that helped but
caused an icing dilemma ! as for the OWL cast.... there tough to remove once hardened
on the tower rungs 😞

I have Great Horned Owls that hang out on my tower's . They'll have a
who off in the mornings just before sunrise.
They leave presents at the base of my towers, normally the fur of an
eaten mouse. One of them decided to perch on a 15m element and the
element lost.

I have Harris Hawks perching on my beam a lot. There have been as
many as six at one time. I'm always reluctant to turn the beam when
they are there. They are rare in the way that they hunt cooperatively
and the fact that the mother is in charge. Earlier in the year, a
pair of Peregrine falcons was nesting in a neighbor's tree but using
my tower as a hunting perch.
A friend, also a ham, is a licensed falconer and he has one of each
that he hunts with.

?All,? I haven't been on the air lately because a mother bird chose to
select my TX-472 for her nest and at about eye level is a nest of 3
little
babies.? Just don't have the heart to scare them into jumping out when I
raise the tower to 72'.? My patience is wearing a bit thin though.?
Fully
nested and a failure to launch...? Hi? Russ K5ZZR
