I recommend you study two books - Yagi Antenna Design by W2PV, and All the
right angles by N6BV.  The heights will govern the takeoff angles and hence
the distant footprint or landing area....this is why some hams have added low
antennas to their antenna farms of massive towers......seem to remember
Sweepstakes single op winning station W5WMU has some antennas as low as 35 or
40 feet!  Lower antenna height means higher angle, higher angle means better
for closer in communications.....in other words, higher is better - if it is
to a certain DX location....read both these books - it is not a simple
answer!
