First, thanks for taking the time and having the courage to set up and
run the tests. Antennas are a real sacred cow for most Hams. If you
have the time take a close look at the testing of VHF/UHF antennas
at the Midwest, Southern and of conferences. A given antenna will
have different results at different conferences. Take the time to
write to K1FO or WB0TEM and ask them about REAL world antenna
performances measured with GOOD test equipment.
Please check your emotions at the door and take the time to listen and
learn what Steve is trying to tell us. We can all get a education
from this, if we try to!

The height difference of 30 feet on ten meters is significant. Our test
of the C-3 shows that it has 2-2.5 dBd gain on 10M. All your comments show is
that at THAT time, on THAT band your results were similar. It's not a valid
evaluation of either antenna's performance.

Well, it's these anecdotal observations that we're trying to get away
from. They're not valid. Until you have data obtained from a standardized,
repeatable test - it don't mean a thing. That's why we are going to all this
work so that we can present some REAL on-the-air data.
