This is a timely topic for me. I have been trying to decide what kind of 6
meter antenna to buy. The last VHF contest was my first foray onto 6 meters
in 50 years of "Hamming". I have been thinking a small beam, maybe like the
3 or 5 element beam from M2. I was thinking I'd put it between my C3E and
XM240. They are 12 feet apart and about 125 feet high.

I had serious interaction between the current antennas and I had to turn the
C3E at 90 degrees from the 2 element 40. I am afraid of further interaction
if I put the 6 meter beam in between. If I were to do this, which way should
I orient the 6 meter beam? If there is a chance it will interact, I'll just
continue to use my 80 meter sloper and tuner.

I know most of the big multi ops run omni antennas on 6 such as the M2 loop
or the KU4AB loop but then switch to their beam (or beams) when you call.
The beam is several S points higher than the loop.

I used the old squalo loop years ago and its just a single loop with zero
gain.

Inquiring minds want to know how the M2 or KU4AB loop rate so high (look at
the eHam reviews)?

is it that such an antenna is better than no antenna (or loading up my 40
meter beam)?
