What I do is I use my iPod touch, a SIP client (whistle) and a SIP
server (Asterisk). WiFi covers my whole front yard and out to the
street about 200ft.
Works reasonably well. Quality is FB.
The bonus is that I am not limited to WiFi around the yard. I can even
remote dial in from any telephone, enter a passcode and listen in. So
even if I want to check the band while I'm at work thats possible.
