I bought N2TK's 40-2CD some years ago. It had 2", .250 wall 6061-t6 boom.
No center reinforcement. Worked fine. When the hurricane caused the oak to
take out a guyset, it rode down from 90'. The boom was the only straight
thing
left. Don't think I'd worry about reinforcing the center. But it was a
single
22' piece.
I bought a 24' tube from Bethlehem Aluminum (Allentown PA) recently for
about
$125, for what it's worth.
