What effect does a tall tower (100+) have on these angles?  Seems to
me a small change in elevation on 1 end would make a big change in
angle a few miles away.

Jim, the 100 ft tower changes the total elevation difference (Rise) of 1410 ft by 100 ft.
over a distance of say, 12,000 ft.(Run) Using Tangent function, the 100 ft difference only changes
angle by about 1/2 degree... (tan = rise over run)
