I think W9AC is on to somethng WRT the Z of the line. 75 ohm, like LDF4-75. BTW Andrew AFAIK made LDF4-50 and LDF5-50 but I never heard of this LDF4.5 stuff. Is that just some ham's invention? Connectors: If you are only using the line for 40 m. and lower you don't really need connectors if you are terminating the line in WX proof enclosures, such as an indoor antenna tuner on one end and a box at the base of a monopole at the other end. You can just expose the outer and inner conductors and strap or solder usable copper leads like strap or bare AWG14 copper wire to the cable and go from there or effect some other convenient hardware transition. The Z bump on the low bands isn't enough to worry about.
