Not sure of the brand, but all of my grips came from Texas Towers and they
are EHS also.  They have a yellow painted band near the wrap-start point and
a paper tag on the short end.  I always start the wrap using the short end.

Hello-
    I am a little confused about some of the PLP " Big Grips" for 1/4" EHS
guy wire.I have seen some from a tower supply business that had the correct
PLP tags and correct color { even came with PLP instruction sheet} but they
appear to be aluminum?? Is this correct?
