If you look in one of the old Antenna Hand Books (perhaps even on line?),
there should be an article in there on something called the PVRC Mount. I
used these years ago when I was in Virginia on my towers to get larger stuff
up. The guys from the Potomac Valley Radio Club in the D.C area get the
credit for the idea and for making it public. It really helps.... You
install the boom for you yagi first, then add the elements later...works
like a champ.

Build it without the 40M elements
Lift it up (boom vertical ) to the side of tower. Put the 40M reflector
and director on the boom
Mount the boom to the mast then add the 40M center element to boom.
The raise the mast using 2 cum-a-longs and install the rotor .

One thing that I didn't mention in my original post that I should have: the
tower is behind the house and only about 15' from the house, so I don't
think there's enough room to get the antenna to the side of the tower in
order to lift it vertically.
