Well said Chris. After all these years I have had more disappointments from
other Realtors than hopefully any of you in a lifetime. The professionalism
does run from exceptional to the pits.
My main point was not to place Realtors on a pedestal but to inform about
what it is reasonable to expect and what is simply not allowed by law or
beyond the scope of the Realtors responsibilities and duties. It is
reasonable to ask your Realtor for ALL of the information you need to make
an informed decision in a timely fashion. It is not reasonable to ask your
Realtor to intepret complicated CC&R's for the customers benefit. If the
customer has any legal questions about those documents which would influence
their buying decision, those concerns should be asked of an Attorney
representing the customer...not the Realtor.
And thanks to all of you guys who sent me the nice private mails, I
appreciate that. Those that sent the descriptions of some of their
experiences....that is asking me to comment on a scenario of which I have
no information and consequently no opinions.
I would also suggest that this discussion be moved to the Ham law reflector.
There is a wealth of knowledge there. Hopefully this information will help
somewhat in other hams expectations in looking for a perfect qth....I
know....been there....done that. I have fought with codes, done variances,
hearings, presentations, neighborhood public relation polls, everything we
all hate. Sometimes hamming is a lot of work just to put up a little rf. I
would recommend Fred Hopengarten K1VR's book on some of these very matters.

In any profession, trade etc, there exist the good, the bad and the ugly.
I know some physicians I would not send my worst enemy to, the
pharmacutical companies really like these type of physicians. What about
some dentists, the CBC-TV snet a team of reporter across Canada to have a
dental check-up. Very few even came close to the real thing.
So, I guess it is buyer be aware and do you home work.
