This is somewhat dated, but I took the extra exam and the
first class radiotelephone exam on the same day, at the FCC
office in NYC. Extra in the morning, as a warmup for the first.
As it turned out, the extra was harder than the first phone.
The exam has become somewhat more difficult with the passage
of time, not easier.
But hell, how hard can it be, when they give you a q&a book that
covers all the material? It's only a matter of memorizing the
"correct" answers.
Does anyone remember the name of the guy with the coke-bottle-bottom
glasses, who used to administer the code test?
