[TowerTalk] Bent bolts?

I have seen some that are pre-bent on a military type tower.  Probably
to keep the turnbuckles centered and prevent rubbing against the sector
plate.

There is a 200 ft heavy duty guyed Florida Highway Patrol tower in my area
that has shackles between the guy turnbucles and the anchor eye. The pin in
the shackle at each of the guy points is not straight but "U" shaped. A
casual glance suggests they are all badly bent but all are an approx.
uniform curve.
Can one of you experts tell me if this is normal for big towers or is this a
disaster waiting to happen?
The bolts are approx. 1 inch diam.
