As I recall the discussion at Dayton the year the tests were done, the 
"knock" on the methodology was that the measurements were necessarily made 
at an elevation angle of zero (no helicopter available) and that it was 
possible that some antennas could have more gain at zero than another 
antenna but less gain in the 5-15 degree lobe that is essential for dx, 
Thus the antenna could show up as excellent but really be a dx dog.  This 
argument seems to have disappeared over the years. 
As for the Mosely TA33, I won't comment on its performance, but will 
comment on its "longevity."  After a number of years the plastic material 
used for the trap forms begins to deteriorate and an antenna that handled 
a KW for years suddenly breaks down under power and blows a trap. Happened
