I have done this but was dissuaded because of the rusting of the steel
conductor (one steel and one copper). Typically that resulted in bolted
connections (like on a ground plate) becoming loose and intermittent.

I wonder if anyone can tell me what the wire is called that were used in
several military surplus wire antennas. It was like flexweave but was a
bronze copper wire (I thought) and about #22awg or so. I would like to
find some of this but no clue what it is called let alone a possible source.
