Comments:
Enjoyed the contest this year despite having other commitments to take care of
on Saturday
evening and Sunday afternoon.
Think this is my best score in recent memory… certainly way better than 2015.
The weather flipped from cold and wet to hot and sunny just in time here.
Fortunately 6 m opened at opportune times, and a few JT contacts were added
including South America, Caribbean and Central America. Nice to see the CW sub
band full of stations, and I think I worked everyone in Florida this year hi.
Actually made some contacts on 2304 which was nice! More work to do on the
microwave station, including phase locked LO’s for 2304 and 3456, much more
power on 1296 and better antennas ideally
one with a multiband feed.
Worked VA3ELE, VE3ZV, VE3OIL, VA3ST on 2304, and on the right frequency too…for
me that’s a surprise as my LO
isn’t too stable.
Anyone have a 3 or 4 foot mesh dish they don’t need?
Great to hear so much Canadian activity including rovers and
multop and single op. Best DX was K1RZ in FM19 on 902 and 1296 (with my 10
watts) as well as working FN15 on 1296, and K0TPP in
EN48 on 144, and W4IY plus G8GP in FM08 on 222 and 70 cm. Lets hope the new UHF
distance contest is as much fun.
