I was on for a couple of hours - nil heard out here in the heartland on 432
MHz. A severe thunderstorm rolling through during the sprint didn't help
much.
There was a nice 6 Meter Es opening from 0200 - 0330 utc April 20, which
made up for the flat 70 cm condx. I worked Arizona, California. Idaho,
Lousiana, Mississippi, and Wyoming from Kansas. Loud signals from W7RV,
AA7A, K7JE, N7IJ, etc. I was running only 10 watts and received numerous "10
over S9 reports." High MUFs noted with KØGU DN70 receiving the W5RP/b at 490
miles on 6M.
The Es season so far is much better than last year, so hoping for good
conditions in the June VHF QSO Party.
