Steve,
The Packrats W3CCX have a beacon in Philadelphia in grid square FM29JW on
222.062 running 4 Watts to a single loop. That may be something to check
out.

Subject: [VHFcontesting] 222 Beacons near Wash DC
Starting to assemble a 222 Mhz station - using an FT817 as a 28MHz IF
and one of the made-in-Ukraine transverters that are available on
ebay. I can receive my VX8 HT and will try local repeaters once I do
some antenna work, but would like to find non-FM signal sources.
http://ntms.org/222Beacons.htm says there is a beacon in Annapolis MD
at 222.055, KL7GLK/3. It isn't listed on
http://www.newsvhf.com/beacons2.html, just 2 in VA (N4MW is 99 miles
SSE of me, WD4GSM 320mi SW) and K3DEL in DE 103 miles ESE.
Suggestions? Once I get things working, plan is to build a WA5VJB
Cheap Yagi and hope my wife doesn't schedule me for something June 13
& 14!
