Here are my plans for a modest rover effort
Equipment: a FT-100D on 6m (100 w), 2M (50 w) and 432 (20 W). Antennas
will
be a 2 el for 6, 4 el for 2 and an 8 el quagi for 432. Operation will be
primally
on the SSB calling frequencies or 10-15khz up when they are busy. In
addition I hope
to make a few contacts on FM using 52.525, 146.55 and 446.00.
Also I now have a Midland 13-509, ten w FM (only) 220 rig with a 5/8 wave
ant and will
welcome offers to QSY to 223.50 for a contact.
Here is my tentative schedule: (times are PST, add 8 for UTC.)
Sat 11:00 CM87, highway 35 above Palo Alto. I plan on being her for approx
two hours. If you you miss me earlier, I'll be on 144.215 at 12:40 PM
looking for last minute contacts before moving on to the next grid.
Sat about 1:00 PM leave for CM97
Sat about 1:45 CM97, highway 35 just east of highway 17. Again if you
haven't worked me earlier I'll be on 144.215 at 2:40 PM.
Sun morning about 9:00 AM CM86, UC-Santa Cruz campus. Here is your change
to
pick up a fairly difficult grid. I would especially appreciate you looking
for me
as contacts can be difficult from on the other side of the hill. At 9:40 AM
I'll
again do a check on 144.215.
Sun morning about 10:00 AM CM96. This a not a very good location so I
dont' expect
to be here long. I'll be on 144.215 at 10:20 AM prior to leaving.
Hope to work you many time on many bands from many grids.
