[WriteLog] FT1000 older model and Interface RESISTORS?????

Greetings All 
 
I have heard that the problems with the various interfaces used with aFT1000
can be cured by the use of resistors rather than a firmware change. I am
trying to get a FIF232C to work with a FT1000 with 5.92 Firmware and it is
not playing the game with Writelog
 
Has anyone come across this ?? Thanks in advance
